“Lost In Love”
The desire that once burned within his chest,
now towers over him like a cresting wave.
He stands motionless but is filled with unrest,
all because of the smile she gave.
No longer did he try to hide his joy.
New life was breathed into his world.
Not being aware it was just a ploy,
into the abyss his emotions were hurled.
He searched the depths of his being
but could not make sense of his state.
He looked in the distance not seeing
his key to the kingdom nor the pearly gate.
Much to her dismay,
he chose to abandon the pursuit.
Never presented the bouquet
that had bloomed in his heart and took root.
